Excel Refrigeration & Air Conditioning is looking for a Commercial Service Supervisor to join our Manawatu team. This is an opportunity to move beyond the tools and take responsibility for the day-to-day coordination and delivery of commercial service work, while continuing to use your technical knowledge and industry experience.

We’re looking for someone who is focused on developing their career into broader service leadership while building strong relationships with customers and technicians.

The Role

Working closely with the Service Manager and Service Coordinator, you’ll help lead the commercial service function and coordinate a team of technicians and apprentices. This is a hands-on role where your ability to get the best from people will be key to success.

You’ll be involved in:

• Planning, scheduling and allocating daily commercial service work

• Coordinating technicians, apprentices, parts, equipment and subcontractors

• Overseeing repairs, fault diagnosis, quoted remedial work and installations

• Supporting technicians with technical advice and problem-solving

• Managing work in progress and ensuring jobs are completed efficiently

• Providing health and safety leadership across the team

• Monitoring quality, callbacks and rework

• Participating in the service call-out roster

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be an experienced refrigeration and air conditioning professional who is ready to take on greater responsibility and develop your leadership capability. Most importantly, you’ll be someone who takes ownership, makes sound decisions, communicates well and wants to build a long-term career with Excel.

To be successful, you’ll have:

• A relevant refrigeration qualification or equivalent practical experience

• Strong practical knowledge of commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems

• Solid fault-finding and service experience

• Experience, or the capability, in leading or supervising technicians

• Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills

• A customer-focused and commercially minded approach

• The ability to communicate well with customers and the wider team

• A commitment to high standards of safety and quality

• A full New Zealand Driver Licence

• Permanent NZ work rights
