Excel Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, New Plymouth is appointing an experienced Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technician to service and maintain commercial and industrial systems, with the ability to support offshore work when required. This role suits a technically focused professional who values precision, reliability, and high-quality standards.

The Role

Based in New Plymouth, this role involves servicing and maintaining commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems across client sites, with periodic offshore assignments forming part of the position. Key responsibilities include:

• Planned preventative maintenance and servicing

• Fault diagnosis and breakdown response

• Installation and commissioning of refrigeration and HVAC systems

• Industrial plant maintenance and system upgrades

• Working in line with strict HSE standards, including offshore compliance

• Delivering high-level customer service and technical expertise

Who We’re Looking For

This role requires a professional who takes pride in quality standards, demonstrates strong technical capability, and understands the importance of safety and teamwork. Adaptability and professionalism are essential, along with the ability to contribute beyond routine service work. The successful applicant will have the following:

• NZQA Level 4 Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (or recognised equivalent)

• Current EST Practising Licence

• Approved Refrigerant Handling (Filler’s) Ticket

• Full, unrestricted NZ Driver Licence

• Proven hands-on HVAC & Refrigeration experience

• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability

• the ability and willingness to travel and work offshore when required

• Be currently residing in New Zealand
