Excel Engineering, part of the Excel Group, is a nationally recognised leader in industrial refrigeration solutions. We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex, high-value projects from concept through to commissioning.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of significant industrial projects while working alongside a highly skilled engineering team. You will be challenged, supported, and rewarded in an environment that values professionalism, innovation, and continuous development. Ideally, you will be Tauranga-based and available full time, however some flexibility may be considered for the right candidate.
The Role
As the Senior Project Manager, you will lead the design and delivery of large-scale industrial projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
• Working closely with clients to define project requirements and develop detailed project plans and schedules
• Managing the design phase of industrial refrigeration projects in collaboration with internal engineering teams
• Coordinating subcontractors and project teams
• Overseeing construction, installation, and commissioning activities
• Managing project budgets, forecasting, and financial performance
• Ensuring quality control documentation and compliance with industry standards
• Building and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships
• Ensuring adherence to relevant industry codes, regulations, and safety requirements
• Providing leadership and support to project teams and stakeholders
What You Will Bring
• Minimum 5 years’ experience managing industrial projects
• Proven leadership capability across complex, multidisciplinary environments
• Strong commercial acumen and budget management experience
• Excellent stakeholder and client relationship skills
• High level of technology proficiency and systems capability
• Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
• Preferably a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Project Management, or similar
